3way magic

Small steps to greatness
Using the experience and expertise of an upline leader is one of the very best ways to build your business. Why do something yourself if you can use someone more experienced than you, at no cost and learn the process at the same time?
“But I have never done it before. I have never made a 3way call!”
OK! Good! You are out of your comfort zone.
1. Call your telephone company and order 3way calling.
2. Once you have 3way calling, place a call to your up-line and practice the process.
3. Then practice with a friend or a distributor with a call to your upline and 3way them on the call.
In my opinion 3way calling is the most powerful technique and one of the easiest to use to introduce someone to the business.

Your head?

Your achievement begins in your head.

See yourself taking your small step, visualize it, feel the positive response and take the step.

In a matter of seconds you go from thinking about the step to taking the step with confidence based on thinking it through.

Remake yourself

When you find the right company, the right product, the right team to work with, when it all comes together you have a challenge. How can you remake yourself to achieve your WHY? How can you remake yourself to help others?

The answer is in the Small Step Philosophy. Take the Small Steps your up-line leaders recommend. Find a successful up-line leader you respect, then listen to them and do what they say. They made all the mistakes and they can help you avoid making the same mistakes.

This is the time to be humble, listen and learn.

The Rat Race

It’s called the Rat Race and even if you win you’re still a rat.

All your life people tell you - "Don't be a Quitter!"
Don't give up! Work harder! Put in longer hours! Make more sacrifices! Eventually you will get there. Do you know anyone who is working hard ..... making very little progress?

There is a better way. It’s called network marketing and it changed my life beyond my wildest dreams.

Quit

We are QUITTERS! - That's why we are financially secure!
You can't be a WINNER until you QUIT -
QUIT running around in circles to make ends meet!
QUIT telling yourself - "If I just work harder! Longer! More!"
QUIT waiting to win the lottery!
QUIT saying "no" to your children’s needs and wants!
QUIT expecting change, when you change nothing!
QUIT spending your life stressed out and unhappy!

I quit that rat race, joined network marketing, worked hard doing what I loved and my life has never been to same. You can do it too.

I found some statistics from the U.S.
Department of Health & Human Services,

They took 100 people at the age of 26
and they projected them into the future
to 65.

They found that out of those 100 young people,
36 are dead, 54 are dead broke, 5 are still working,
4 are financially secure, and 1 is wealthy.

What steps are you taking to be one of the

What do you expect?

I expect great things with every step

What do you expect to happen to you and to all those people around you? You can expect great things or you can expect nothing.

You can say to yourself, “Another day, another dollar, another dreary day at work, I wish it was Friday, here we go again.”

OR ...... You can say to yourself “I expect this to be a wonderful day”. “Good, good things are going to happen. I’m going to take some of those small steps to the TOP starting right now”.

Which expectation lifts your spirits and makes you feel better?
Which expectation gives you the energy to take the next step?

See it!

Whatever you see and believe you can achieve.

After Jack Canfield, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul saw visualization working big time for him, his wife asked him, “honey, if it worked for a hundred thousand dollars would it work for a million dollars?” Jack said, “I don’t know, let’s give it a try.”

They visualized a check for a million dollars.

At the end of that year they received a check for one million dollars for the first edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul.

How many times a day do you visualize enjoying your WHY?

What do you see?

Take An Inside Step, Visualize it:

Can you say this with absolute conviction?
“I can see it in my mind and I will see it in my hand.”

What do you think about every night just before you fall asleep?
What do you see when you wake up every morning?

Jack Canfield, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, wrote a copy of a $100,000 check made out to him and taped it to the ceiling right over his bed. At the time he was just getting by earning $8000 a year. Every morning when he woke up that check was the first thing he saw. That year through the strangest of circumstances he earned ninety-two thousand three hundred three hundred and twenty seven dollars.

Network marketing changed my life in ways that were beyond my imagination.

First word of mouth is the most powerful marketing force on earth.

Second it is the most effective way to get the product to the end consumer.

Third the company pays the people who do the work.

Fourth it means that you can participate in the capitalistic system that built this country.

You build residual income …….

You benefit from leverage ………

You benefit from a system that builds your self esteem ………

And by far the most important you benefit from helping others make their dreams their reality ………

Greatness?

Every small step is a step towards greatness.

You don't wake up one morning and suddenly you are a great network marketing leader. You don't suddenly realize that you have changed hundreds of lives perhaps even saved lives or kept people free of debilitating diseases.

Greatness is earned one step at a time. Greatness is found in the small step, in the moment of the decision to act.

Look back at the end of every day and ask yourself what small step to greatness did I take today?

What steps did you take today?

The value of a step.

Every step takes you closer to or further from your goal. Even the smallest step counts.

What happens when you don't take a step forward? You just stepped backward. Why is inaction a step backward? It is because you lost an opportunity that may never come again.

This is a major Small Step Philosophy.

Every step takes you somewhere. Where do I go from here? Somewhere?

When Alice said she didn’t care much where she went the Chesire Cat assured her that she would get somewhere if she walked long enough.

"I don't care much where" --- said Alice.
Then it doesn't matter which way you go," interrupted the Cat.
"So long as I get somewhere," Alice explained.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," remarked the Cat, "if only you walk long enough."

Do you really want to keep on walking, not knowing where you will end up or do you want to take the steps that take you to your WHY?

Small Steps

How big is one small step?

How big is one small step? I'm not talking about a giant step, a leap or some kind or a jump. I'm not thinking about the large steps you take on a stepladder. I'm talking about small steps, the kind of steps you take when you’re walking.

The steps to greatness, the steps to the top in network marketing, are not giant bold leaps, they are small simple steps such as making that follow-up call, handing out a CD, getting someone on a 3way call or a conference call.

The steps to greatness are small steps, consistent steps, everyday, everyday, everyday.

Greatness is in the moment of decision,in your next small step.

Courage

There is courage in the small step;

“Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do.
There can be no courage unless you’re scared.”

There is nothing more important in building your own business than courage.

 It takes courage to decide what your WHY is, what you really want from life.
 It takes courage to make that phone call.

NO???

Every ‘no’ is a step up.

“No” is a word you will hear frequently as you pursue your dream. “No” comes in different sizes, colors and sounds. Sometimes they are soft, “no, it’s just not for me”.
Sometimes they are harsh, “are you out of your mind? Network marketing don’t you know it’s a scam?” Sometimes they sound so intelligent, “well if this product is as good as you say it is, why don’t they sell it at Walmart?”

Sometimes “no” simply means not now. Sometimes “no” means I don’t “know” enough.

There is magic in every “no”. What is the magic in “no”?

Every “no” leads to a “yes”. If you tell enough people your story you will find the “yes”. Those “yes’s” are there and you will find them when you keep searching.

In my years in network marketing I have heard “no” thousands of times but the “yes’s” I’ve heard make it all worthwhile.

Go out there and collect those “no’s” because you know that every “no” is a step up, a step towards a “yes”.

One small step

Small Steps Two Stairways

It's easy, so easy to take those small steps.

What if you don’t take that step? What will happen? Nothing!
Nothing good and nothing bad except a missed opportunity to change a life.

Our business is full of amazing stories of lives changed.

Our business is full of amazing stories of DVD’s, CD's, books, phone calls, conference calls and conversations that brought in the biggest names in the business.

Would you have spoken to a maintenance manager living in a trailer park who had such a painfully low esteem that he would avoid saying hello unless you spoke first?

Whoever took that step changed my life and thousands of lives.

The second best time is always today.

Funny how planting trees and taking small steps to the TOP are the same that way.

What staircase? (2)

John, “you talk about that staircase but I just don’t see it. How can I see it? How can I visualize my goals?

Faith always comes first. Taking small steps builds you and your belief. Small steps, everyday, everyday, everyday on the up staircase, toward your dream will take you to success.

The most important small steps are to learn everything you can by being on conference calls, training calls and being at every event.

By far the best way to learn the business is to do the business. Get your upline leader to work with you. The better you do, the better your upline leader will feel.

Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the staircase.

What staircase?

John, “you talk about that staircase but I just don’t see it. How can I see it? How can I visualize my goals?

When I got started I was maintenance manager in a potato chip factory, working 10 hour days, on-call 24/7 and living in a 14 foot trailer in a trailer park. When I was introduced to network marketing I had no idea what I was doing but it felt right so I borrowed $5000 and jumped in with both feet. I began to take small steps part time everyday to build my business.

After a few months of some success I saw a dream. If I could earn just $3000 a month and be in my own business I would not know what to do with all that money.

Which stairway?

Imagine two stairways; one stairway up and one stairway down.

Now imagine that the steps on both stairways are very, very small steps,
not the normal six inch step but small, small one-quarter inch steps. In
fact the steps are so very, very small that it's hard to even see the slope
up or the slope down.

You may not see the slope but know this, one stairway will take you to the
top and one stairway will take you nowhere.

One stairway takes you closer to your goals with every small step.

The other stairway takes you further from your goals with every small step.

Right now you are on one of these stairways.
If you’re reading this email I assume that you’re on the stairway going up.

Which stairway are you on?

Why was my life never the same again?

The rest of the story.

After Zig told that story I knew that I would never be the same again. I left that auditorium knowing that I could be more than a maintenance manager, more than someone afraid of his shadow, more than someone whose self-esteem was so low that I would not lift up my head to say hello unless you said hello first.

After that talk I was never the same again. That was the small step that changed my life.

We have all been flea trained.
Zig Ziglar

How can a story change a life?

How did this step change my life?

As I mentioned in the last step I went to hear Zig Ziglar speak despite the ridicule of my friends. Zig held up a jar of fleas and said that he was the world’s champion flee trainer. He went on the explain that if you put fleas in a jar they would jump and jump and jump always hitting their heads on the top of the jar. Eventually they would get tired of hitting their heads and they would jump just high enough not to bump their heads. You could take the lid off the jar and they would never jump out.

The purpose of the illustration is to show that we have been flea trained to believe that we cannot get out of the jar. We can’t get a better job. We can’t start our own company. We can’t make it on our own? The failure rate is so high. You won’t make it. We can’t, we can’t, we can’t. You can’t, you can’t, you can’t.

Come back tomorrow for the rest of the story.

The rest of the story

The rest of the story:

Was going to hear Zig Ziglar a big step or a small step? It was a small step and it changed my life big time. Zig Ziglar gave me a new vision of me.

That's what this series is all about. It's about taking small steps to success. There is no quantum leap to success, no sudden breakthrough, you don't wake up one morning and there you are a success. Success is a series of small steps taken everyday, everyday, everyday.

Success “Is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” It’s progressive, one step at a time, one small step at a time.

The step that changed my life:

This is the day that I will remember forever. I was maintenance manager at the Barrel Of Fun Potato Chip plant in Perham Minnesota. I was in the break room having coffee with a few of my friends and I told them that I was going to hear Zig Ziglar speak in Fargo. That was when the kidding really started. Who is this Zig Zag guy? What is he going to tell you, and on and on. But you know what? I went anyway.

Was going to hear Zig Ziglar a big step or a small step? It was a small step and it changed my life big time. Zig Ziglar gave me a new vision of me.

Talk to more people

The step is the solution
When I first got started in network marketing selling water filters I met Jeff. Jeff had a very simple answer to every problem. “Talk to more people.”
If you went to Jeff and said “Jeff our product is too expensive”, Jeff would say, “talk to more people.”
If you went to Jeff and said “Jeff I’m not making any money: Jeff would say, “talk to more people.”
If you went to Jeff and said “Jeff I have a problem with our company: Jeff would say, “talk to more people.”

This works. It will work for you.

Say less to more people.

Am I doing it wrong?

“John I get a lot of ‘not interested’ when I hand out a CD or talk to someone about my business. What am I doing wrong?”

The answer is ‘nothing’. You’re doing the right thing. Every no leads to a yes. So much of our business depends on timing. If you ask someone to listen and they’re doing well they may say ‘no’. Ask that some person when their circumstances change and suddenly they are interested. Just keep asking.

Mary Kaye got it right, fail forward.

"People fail forward to success."

What's the cost?

For everything we do there is always a cost. What will it cost me to pursue my dream?

The first thing to remember is that the cost of pursuing your dream is far less than the cost of letting your dream die. The price of neglect is far greater than the price of discipline. The price of failure, of letting go, is much greater than the price of persistence. The saddest words in life are “if only”. “If only I had pursued my dream, if only I held my vision, if only ……..”

As you take those small steps to the top everyday, everyday, everyday how do you evaluate the results? How do you know if you are on the right track?

If your answer is the results you see, you have given the answer that 95% of the population gives … and you would be wrong. Results always come last.

Focus on the actions you’re taking. Are you doing the things that work?

The results will come. Focus on doing the right things everyday, everyday, everyday and evaluate yourself based on your activity not your results.

Success is taking one step after another

Success is taking one step after another.

Earl Nightingale said that “success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal or goal”. Notice that he said the progressive realization. Progressive tells me that it is a process; it does not come all at once in some great quantum leap.

Success is progressive, it comes one step at a time. The philosophy you will hear about in this series is the Small Step Philosophy, small steps that will take you to the top.

You will soon see that every one of these steps is easy, easy to take but here’s the catch they are also easy NOT to take.

Success, the choice always is yours.

Using feel felt found to overcome objections

This is a 1:22 minute video on using feel felt found to overcome the objection "I don't believe in Network Marketing".

Thia is the first in a series of short videos addressing frequent objections.

Small Steps to the TOP

FIRST STEPS: IT LOOKS SO FAR!

You may be thinking, “John the Top of the Mountain that you always talk about seems so far.” Of course the top of the mountain looks so far when you’re just getting started and looking up. When I got started in network marketing I thought that if I could just earn $3000 a month I would have it made.

Dream, visualize, imagine yourself at the top of your mountain and then take the first step. No matter how high the mountain the only way to get there is by taking one small step at a time.

That’s why the Small Step Philosophy is so important.

Think about it!
It’s the only way to the top.
I am starting my Blog today January 6, 2010
